Basic Insurance
According to the medical services public insurance act approved in 1994 by Islamic Parliament, the government was committed to extend the medical insurance coverage to all people in the society. This was not realized against all efforts and attempts made in the form of self-insurance. Regarding this fact and according to the decision of the government with regard to privatization of governmental organizations, medical services insurance organization has concluded marketing contracts for overage of all people of the society since 2001. Atyehsazan Company which is one of the companies affiliated to the investment company of medical services insurance organization was introduced as agency and legal supervisor.
At the present time, all people who are not covered under basic insurance, may refer to the branches of Atyehsazan company in the relevant province or central headquarters of this company and make themselves covered by basic insurance.
Objectives of the basic insurance unit includes:
Creating appropriate ground for medical coverage of all people who have not been insured under any kind of medical insurance so far.
Preparing an appropriate bed for realization of the organization's objectives with regard to the privatization.
Reflecting the function of insuring companies along with points of weakness and strength to the relevant authorities.
Introducing the issues and obstacles of privatization and correcting the executive methods and supervision.
